Job summary

Covenant House New York seeks a Direct Service Manager to lead Resident Advisors across Manhattan and the Bronx, develop staff, and ensure policy compliance. The role focuses on trauma-informed, youth-centered care with strong organizational and supervisory skills.

Reporting to the Program Coordinator and Senior Director, you will drive professional development, safety, and quality of care, while coordinating onboarding and ensuring weekend/evening coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Experience working with youth, especially homeless/at-risk.
• Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Resident Advisors across Manhattan and the Bronx.
• Develop staff through onboarding, supervision, and training.
• Ensure policies, procedures, and safety standards are followed.
• Respond to crises and model de-escalation and crisis management, including weekends/holidays.
• Coordinate onboarding of new Resident Advisors and schedule coverage.
• Collaborate with Program Coordinator and Senior Director to foster energizing culture.
