Job summary

Covenant House New York seeks a Direct Service Manager to lead the residential program staff across Manhattan and the Bronx. You will develop Resident Advisors, supervise daily operations, and ensure adherence to policies while supporting the youth we serve through trauma-informed, strength-based approaches.

You will lead staff development, coordinate case planning, and maintain strong partnerships with internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred or successful experience in a related field.
• Experience working with diverse groups is required.
• Experience working with young people, especially those experiencing homelessness, is preferred.
• Experience utilizing data dashboards and other metrics to improve staff performance and client outcomes preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must know about human service delivery systems, residential care, and resources for the youth population.
• Strong multi-tasking skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates leadership by modeling the mission, vision, and principles.
• Oversee onboarding and development of Resident Advisors; supervise staff.
• Conduct weekly supervision and provide coaching to direct care staff.
• Manage crisis response and de-escalation; model crisis management.
• Coordinate with program coordinators and senior director to foster an energized culture.
• Ensure integration between program efforts to maximize positive results.
