Job summary

Covenant House New York is seeking a Direct Service Manager to lead Resident Advisors across residential programs in Manhattan and The Bronx. The role focuses on staff supervision, crisis management, and program operations in a compassionate, trauma-informed environment serving homeless youth.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology, with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, and a track record in youth services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred or successful experience in a related field.
• Experience working with diverse groups is required.
• Experience with homeless youth preferred.
• Experience using data dashboards and metrics to improve staff performance and client outcomes preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Resident Advisors and oversee day-to-day tasks at CHNY's residential programs.
• Supervise staff across Manhattan and The Bronx sites and support professional development.
• Model trauma-informed care and resiliency-based approaches with youth.
• Oversee shifts, crises management, and coordination with Program Coordinators and Senior Director of Shelter.
