Job summary

African American Planning Commission Inc is seeking a House Manager to ensure the safety and smooth operation of the Edwins Place in Brooklyn, NY. Under supervision of the Program Director, you will oversee front desk functions, conduct hourly safety rounds, and coordinate with security staff to protect residents and property.

The role requires a High School diploma, security experience, and a valid Fire Safety Coordinator license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; must be at least 21 years old.
• Knowledge of Fire Panel operation and safety protocols.
• Certified Fire Safety Coordinator license (F80, S95) with at least 1 year security experience.
• Experience working with populations with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure front desk coverage and visitor sign-in.
• Patrol premises to maintain security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Conduct hourly rounds to ensure tenant, staff, and visitor safety.
• Report hazards to Facilities Manager or Social Service Director.
• Record daily activities and disturbances and investigate emergencies.
• Call police or fire department in emergencies.
• Coordinate with Security officer on protocols and responsibilities.
• Maintain shift logs and visitor logs.
