Children’s Rescue Fund in Bronx, NY is seeking an Operations Manager to supervise the Safety Department, ensure a secure environment for clients and staff, and coordinate real-time incident response and reporting to the Program Director.

The qualifications include an Associate’s degree or GED, five years in social services with supervisory and residential program experience, a clean NY driver’s license, MS Office proficiency, and bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree and/or High School diploma or GED.
  • Five years of experience in a social service setting with at least three years of supervisory experience and two years of administrative residential program experience involving material management, fire safety and security procedures.
  • Clean, valid New York State Driver’s license. Computer literacy with MS-Office preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the Safety Department staff implements all established agency procedures.
  • Reviews logs, reports and incidents to ensure documentation is accurate and timely.
  • Ensures shifts are staffed adequately to maintain security for residents, staff and visitors.
  • Provides training, supervision and coaching to direct reports.
  • Responds to emergencies and ensures proper reporting per DHS and agency procedures.
  • Liaises with the maintenance company to ensure apartments are prepared for new families and repairs are addressed.
  • Maintains records of work orders and preventive maintenance.

Operations Manager

Salary Range: $58,000.00 To $60,000.00 Annually

PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Program Director, the Manager of Operations is responsible for the overall management and supervision the Safety Department staff. Ensures Operations staff maintain a secure and safe environment for the clients, staff and visitors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Ensures the Safety Department staff implements all establish agency procedures.
  2. Reviews logs, reports and incidents etc., to ensure staff is completing documentation accurately and timely.
  3. Ensures all shifts are staffed adequately to ensure the security of the facility and the Safety of residents, staff and visitors.
  4. Provides training, supervision and coaching to all direct reports.
  5. Responds to emergencies and incidents. Ensures incident DHS and Agency procedures are followed when reporting and documenting incidents.
  6. Liaise with the maintenance company to ensure that vacant apartments are cleaned and prepared for new families; work orders are addressed; and facility is maintained clean and in good repair.
  7. Ensures maintenance company provides copies of closed work orders; logs and reports of scheduled preventive maintenance services provided by vendors.
  8. Assist in the gathering of documentation and obtaining pictures for submission with responses to all Corrective Action Plans (CAP’s) following Routine Site Review Inspections (RSRI), and Office of Temporary Disability and Assistance (OTDA) inspections, to be completed in the CARES Building Compliance System (BCS)
  9. Represent program by accompanying inspectors during / maintenance Repair and (RSRI), Monitoring Tool audits (MT), OTDA, and any other announced and/or unannounced inspections.
  10. Propose modifications in procedures/equipment to the Director of Building Operation.
  11. Documents staff performance issues and collaborates with HR in addressing staff performance issues.
  12. Drives clients to apartment viewings, scheduled appointments and oversee in-house and outward client transfers.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Facilitate effective communication with other staff within an interdisciplinary context, participate in and contribute to staff meetings and the development of policies and procedures.
  2. Participate in training and staff-development activities to acquire and maintain both interpersonal and operational skills necessary for successful job performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Associates Degree and/or High School diploma or GED
  • Experience: Five years’ experience in a social service setting including at least three years significant supervisory experience and two years administrative residential program experience involving material management, fire safety and security procedures.
  • Related Skills: Must have a clean, valid New York State Driver’s license. Computer literacy required with knowledge of office systems; MS-Office preferred.
  • Other Requirements (Including Physical Demands):
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • NYS Security Guard License and Fire Coordinator (F-80)
  • Periodically may bend, lift and carry objects weighing up to twenty-five pounds.
  • May be required to work long hours and a varied schedule
