Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking a Residential Community Service Partner to provide nightly security and safety for the Residential Community Service Program (RCSP) on the main campus. The role operates seven nights a week (7 PM–3 AM) with a shift differential and requires liaison with Fire, Police, and Dispatch.

Responsibilities include patrols, lockup, reporting, emergency preparedness, and occasional driving of campus vehicles.

• De-escalation skills to calm tense situations and prevent violence.

Responsibilities

• Community Patrols (70%): night patrols, lockup, manage keys, respond to Dispatch, assist residents, identify hazards.
• Reporting (15%): log observations, document policy violations and incidents.
• Emergency Preparedness (10%): know SSDOC procedures, provide first aid/CPR/AED, manage evacuations, be ready for CERT.
• Other Duties (5%): drive campus vehicles, perform CHES tasks.
