Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is hiring a Groundskeeper to maintain parking lots, bike paths, transit shelters, and surrounding landscaped areas on the main campus. You will perform landscaping, painting, curb and line marking, vegetation control, and assist other TAPS departments as needed.

This position supports temporary traffic control during emergencies, campus closures, and commencements. Candidates should have grounds maintenance experience, be able to work as part of a team, and maintain safe, clean

Qualifications

Experience in grounds and/or lot maintenance.
Ability to safely use hand and power tools and perform minor repairs.
Computer skills to operate a database, spreadsheets, and word processing.
Ability to work well in a team.
Valid California driver’s license and ability to drive university vehicles.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair TAPS assets including parking lots, roads, walkways, bike paths, and transit shelters.
Paint parking lot lines and curb markings; maintain signs and graffiti removal.
Provide regular condition updates to the supervisor; supervise student workers when required.
Assist with temporary traffic control during emergencies, campus closures, and commencements.
Complete daily vehicle logs and maintain maintenance tracking records.
