Job summary

Cherry Health (Cherry Street Services) DBA is seeking a part-time Coordinator, Residential Care to oversee residents' day-to-day activities in a re-entry facility serving adults in Detroit and Grand Rapids. You will provide custody and security oversight, enforce policies, maintain safety, and document activities to support reintegration after incarceration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid MI driver’s license required.
• CPR certification required or must be completed within the first week of employment.
• Associate degree in Human Services or a Bachelor’s in Social Work preferred.
• Must be at least 23 years old with a clean driving record for 5 years.
• Experience in mental health, substance abuse, or residential correctional programs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Orient and intake new residents and explain facility rules.
• Provide guidance and assist clients with questions and concerns.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client activities.
• Monitor activities on campus and in the community using headcounts and GPS tracking.
• Conduct searches, urinalysis testing, and enforce substance-use policies.
• Perform perimeter checks and count residents regularly.
• Attend staff meetings and coordinate with supervisors.
• Oversee medications and ensure proper dosage and timing.
• Distribute mail, meals, and transportation tickets.
• Transport residents using company vehicles and maintain facility sanitation.
