Job summary

Trustmark Bank is seeking a Commercial Lending professional to apply portfolio management, loan packaging, and underwriting skills to support departmental goals. The role covers data collection for loan packages, pricing decisions, and development of client relationships within the bank's credit authority.

The position evolves through Level I–III with increasing responsibility in credit decisions, portfolio profitability, and leadership in business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of three years proven and progressive commercial lending/credit experience or equivalent
• Experience with real estate or commercial lending risk analysis
• Developed understanding of lending and credit approval process as well as pertinent bank policies and external regulations
• Practical working knowledge of sales principles
• Detailed knowledge of credit analysis practice and procedure
• Familiarity with products and services offered by financial services institutions
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Developed decision making and persuasion skills
• Proven ability to build relationships
• Time management/organization skills
• Computer skills to include word processing and spreadsheet application
• Customer contact and sales and service skills

Responsibilities

• Determine data required for loan packages
• Make portfolio management decisions within credit authority
• Make loan pricing decisions within authority
• Identify qualified prospects for expanded services
• Apply portfolio management skills to loan analysis, underwriting, risk analysis and documentation
• Engage in business development through calls to customers and prospects
• Provide high level customer service to existing clients and identify cross-sell opportunities
• Maintain professional community relations to increase bank visibility
