Job summary

Trustmark in Houston is seeking a Commercial Lending professional to manage portfolios, prepare loan packages, inspect properties, and build client relationships. The role supports achieving department goals through underwriting, risk analysis, and cross-selling across product lines.

Level II/III responsibilities expand credit approvals, pricing, and leadership in business development, with a focus on growing profitable relationships and guiding junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years proven and progressive commercial lending/credit experience or equivalent.
• Experience with real estate or commercial lending risk analysis.
• Understanding of lending and credit approval processes and bank policies.
• Practical working knowledge of sales principles.
• Detailed knowledge of credit analysis practices and procedures.
• Familiarity with products and services offered by financial institutions.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; strong decision making and persuasion.
• Proven ability to build relationships; strong client focus.
• Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.
• Customer contact, sales and service skills.

Responsibilities

• Determination of data required for loan packages.
• Portfolio management decisions within credit authority.
• Loan pricing decisions within authority.
• Identify qualified prospects and potential expanded services.
• Practice portfolio management skills including underwriting, risk analysis, and closing.
• Engage in business development calls to gain additional profitable business.
• Provide high level of customer service to existing clients to grow relationships.
• Maintain professional community relations to increase visibility and opportunities.
