Job summary

ADAPT Community Network in New York, NY seeks a Residence Manager to oversee daily operations of a residential program for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring a safe, supportive, and person-centered living environment.

Under supervision of program leadership, you will supervise residential staff, coordinate care plans, ensure regulatory compliance with OPWDD, manage household finances and records, and advocate for independence and community inclusion.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and support staff.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the people we support, families, staff, and external partners.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate treatment and service plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure health, safety, and dignity of people we support at all times.
• Oversee medical care needs and coordinate with clinical staff.
• Support daily living skills and community participation.
• Advocate for services with programs, employers, and providers.
• Coordinate transportation and equipment maintenance.
• Supervise and train residential staff across shifts.
• Provide coaching, evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensure staff trainings and team meetings are completed.
• Promote accountability and person-centered support.
• Manage facility operations, safety systems, and equipment.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with OPWDD and policies.
• Manage finances including payroll, petty cash, and inventory.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
• Prepare for audits and quality reviews.
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid / CPR.
• Ensure incidents are reported and addressed promptly.
• Communicate with families and guardians.
• Participate in agency committees and development.
• Perform other related duties.
