Job summary

Devereux/TCV Community Services seeks a Program Supervisor to lead the STAIRS residential program for youth with autism and developmental disabilities in the Homestead area near Pittsburgh. The position requires a Bachelor’s in a human services field, supervisory experience, and the ability to mentor staff while ensuring compliance with licensing and CARF standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field with at least twelve credits in related disciplines and two years direct care experience.
• Or 60 college credits with at least twelve credits in human services and three years direct care experience.
• Minimum of one year of supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support direct care staff, including task assignments and performance feedback.
• Oversee daily residential program operations, including activities, schedules, and staff coverage.
• Assist with program planning, quality assurance, and communication with families and external agencies.
• Manage program budgets with a focus on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and best practices.
• Provide crisis prevention and intervention support using approved techniques and protocols.
• Coach staff on effective crisis response and safety procedures.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards (e.g., licensing, CARF, Joint Commission).
• Monitor and report changes in resident behavior or health to the appropriate team members.
• Ensure accurate documentation of treatment services, incidents, and safety interventions.
• Mentor and orient new staff, providing guidance on policies and procedures.
• Conduct timely performance evaluations for direct reports.
• Delegate tasks effectively and foster a culture of accountability and ownership.
• Maintain up-to-date training and actively pursue professional development opportunities.
