The Arc of Washington County - MD is seeking a Residential Program Manager to oversee IDD/Human Services operations in Washington County, MD. This full-time role focuses on leading a team of DSPs and ensuring person-centered care for individuals in 4–6 homes.

You'll supervise 30–40 DSPs, promote inclusive culture, and collaborate with families and an interdisciplinary team. Requires direct IDD experience and supervisory background; position offers daytime schedule with on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s in Human Services preferred.
• 1+ year of direct IDD experience.
• 1+ year of supervisory/management experience in IDD or human services.
• 21+ years old; valid U.S. driver’s license with good record.
• Background check, drug screen and physical exam required.

Now Hiring: Residential Program Manager – IDD / Human Services Required

Location: Washington County, MD

Pay: Starting at $50,000/year

Schedule: Monday–Friday, core hours 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with participation in an on‑call rotation

Position Type: Full-Time

This Is Not a General Management Role

This position requires direct experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and prior leadership experience in a human services setting.

If your background is not in IDD or human services, this role will not be a match.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee operations of 4–6 residential homes
• Supervise, coach, and support a team of 30–40 Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture
• Ensure individuals receive quality, person-centered care in the home and community
• Communicate with families, guardians, and interdisciplinary team members
• Monitor documentation, compliance, and program performance

Requirements:

• Required: Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s in Human Services preferred
• Required: 1+ year of direct experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
• Required: 1+ year of supervisory or management experience in an IDD or human services setting
• Preferred: Experience mentoring, coaching, or developing staff
• 21+ years old
• Valid U.S. driver’s license held for at least 2 years with a good driving record (not including permit time)
• Ability to lift/transfer up to 50 pounds
• Must pass a reading and math assessment and meet all pre-employment requirements, including a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
