Job summary

Innovative Life is hiring Residential Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist individuals with IDD in a residential home setting in Washington, DC. The role focuses on daily living support, safety, and promoting independence in a compassionate environment.

This part-time, non-exempt position offers varied shifts (early and long hours) and a $750 sign-on bonus for new hires. Candidates with care experience and relevant certifications are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Speak English.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to lift, transfer, and physically support individuals as needed.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation (required for some sites).

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care tasks (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding).
• Monitor and document individuals’ physical and emotional well-being.
• Must be able to assist individuals through behavioral challenges appropriately.
• Administer medications (according to training and policy).
• Support individuals with mobility and the use of adaptive equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment.
• Prepare meals and follow individual dietary plans.
• Assist with community outings and recreational activities.
• Implement individualized support and behavioral plans.
• Complete accurate daily electronic documentation and comply with HIPAA and IDD regulations within Therap platform.
• Promote independence and meaningful participation in daily life.
• Respond to emergencies and follow safety protocols.
• Encourage ADLs and household duties with assistance when appropriate.

Hours: 6:00 am-2:00 pm, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, and 8:00 am to 8:00 pm

Key Responsibilities
