Job summary

Mi Homes is seeking a detail-oriented Permitting Coordinator to prepare and submit building permit applications across the Chicagoland area. You will interact with subcontractors, field staff, and other teams to keep projects on schedule.

The role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to manage multiple permit submissions simultaneously. Prior residential construction experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Experience in residential homebuilding or construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in backlog and inventory home scheduling meetings.
• Upload architectural plans and permit plots to Microsoft SharePoint.
• Coordinate with architects, trade partners, and surveyors to obtain required permit documentation.
• Prepare and process check requests for permit-related fees.
• Prepare, submit, and/or deliver permit packages for new homes starts.
• Maintain and update construction-related reports as needed.
• Collaborate with field staff and subcontractors to ensure timely permit approvals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
