Job summary

Hancock Whitney in Austin, TX seeks an experienced mortgage loan professional to originate portfolio loans including conventional, FHA, VA and USDA. You will advise borrowers and ensure compliance with investor guidelines and laws.

You will build referral networks, manage a healthy loan pipeline with processors, underwriters and closers, and coordinate closings. Strong knowledge of mortgage products, excellent communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential; NMLS registration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2 years of sales experience required.
• 2+ years of Mortgage origination experience is preferred.
• NMLS registration required upon employment.
• Knowledge of all Mortgage laws, procedures, rules, regulations, etc. on a federal, relevant state, local and bank-wide basis.
• Ability to learn or knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; Outlook.
• Excellent communication, analytical, customer service and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
• Strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides expert mortgage advice to potential borrowers.
• Stays current with underwriting policies and investor guidelines and applicable laws and regulations.
• Develops and maintains referral networks with Realtors, builders, and others.
• Manages a clean pipeline of loans, coordinating with Processors, Underwriters and Closers.
• Delivers all compliance documents and disclosures in a timely manner.
• Coordinates the closing with borrowers, closing agents, Realtors and others.
• Interviews loan applicants to document income, debt, and credit history.
• Determines if applicant meets establishment standards for further consideration.
• Keeps all parties informed of important developments and status of applications.
• Ensures compliance with Bank policies and applicable laws.
