Job summary

MMS Group is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician for a 120-unit property located in Ashtabula, OH. The role focuses on upkeep of apartment homes, unit turns, and general facility maintenance to ensure safe, comfortable living spaces.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of residential maintenance experience, strong electrical/plumbing/HVAC skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a plus.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of residential multifamily property management/apartment maintenance.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Regular Maintenance: Maintain residential apartment homes and other areas on the property, including building exteriors, interiors, and public areas, regularly.
• Repairs: Perform small appliance, plumbing, electrical, and other repairs in residential apartments and other areas of the property.
• Installation: Install tile and laminate flooring
• Emergency Response: Take part in the on-call rotation schedule, responding to emergency calls according to the company's policy on after-hour emergency calls
• Unit Turnover: Manage the turnover of empty apartment units, including repairs (e.g., sheetrock, taping, sanding, painting, and fixing doors, windows, light fixtures, etc.).
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as outlined in the job description.
