Job summary

Pratum Companies seeks a Maintenance Technician to diagnose problems, perform repairs, and ensure timely handling of service requests at our property in Manassas, VA. The role requires hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems as well as the ability to work on-call and coordinate with tenants and staff.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, make-ready tasks, and equipment inspections. The position offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work a rotating on call schedule.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other systems.
• Experience in general apartment maintenance and repair.
• Ability to recognize electrical, plumbing, and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failure.
• Experience operating a variety of equipment and small hand tools.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor on special maintenance projects, including preventative maintenance of building components and/or mechanicals.
• Complete resident service requests promptly.
• Make-ready tasks: painting, appliance repair, plumbing, electrical fixtures and replacing faulty parts; inspect locks and replace light bulbs.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspect grounds, buildings, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, and major equipment.
• Respond quickly to emergencies, notify appropriate personnel, and follow safety protocols.
• Inspect alarm systems (CO2 and fire) and schedule repairs as needed.
• Perform snow removal as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
