Job summary

Jones Street Residential in Hamden, CT is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Maintenance Supervisor in keeping the property operating efficiently and ensuring timely completion of all maintenance requests.

You will oversee plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, carpentry and painting duties, be on-call for after hours and weekend emergencies, and help prepare vacant units for occupancy with quality repairs.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in residential, commercial, or mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues relating to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliances.
• Physical ability to lift 25–50 pounds, climb stairs, and work in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to conform to shifting priorities.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service requests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring completion.
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy by painting, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Work at a fast pace without compromising quality and coordinate with other maintenance staff.
• Repair holes, caulk around windows/doors, patch ceilings, and texture walls as needed.
• Log actions and supplies in the work order system accurately.
• Develop a rapport with residents by providing superior customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned; rotate on-call for after-hours emergencies.
• Operate in compliance with OSHA, ADA, and Fair Housing regulations.
