Job summary

Rose Associates seeks a motivated Residential Handyperson to support maintenance, resident satisfaction, and the wellbeing of our properties. The role covers plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, safety checks, and on-call emergency responses.

The candidate will work on-site in our New York area properties, perform routine tasks, coordinate with vendors, and ensure compliance with safety regulations while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for residents.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or previous handyman experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, building codes and related machinery/tools required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• EPA 608 Universal certification or capability to obtain certifications (S12/S13/S95/P99).
• Proficient in computer operations; skilled in Microsoft Office and Yardi software.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on residential units including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and carpentry tasks.
• Address minor HVAC issues and inspect/repair appliances; coordinate with vendors for replacements when necessary.
• Paint and drywall repairs to maintain a fresh appearance throughout the property.
• Repair and replace flooring materials as needed and ensure safety and aesthetics.
• Maintain units for apartment turns and manage maintenance shop/inventory.
