Job summary

Rose Associates is seeking a highly motivated Residential Property Handyperson to join our team in Stamford, CT. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for residents.

The role requires on-site presence, adherence to safety protocols, and able to handle on-call emergency requests outside regular hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; prior handyman experience preferred.
• Safety protocols, building codes and related machinery/tools knowledge required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• EPA 608 Universal certification (S12, S13, S95, P99) or ability to obtain.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Yardi software.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on residential units, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and carpentry tasks.
• Address minor HVAC issues, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair appliances; collaborate with technicians for major repairs; coordinate with vendors for replacements.
• Paint and drywall repairs to maintain a fresh appearance.
• Repair and replace flooring materials as needed for safety and aesthetics.
• Maintain units during apartment turns and upkeep the maintenance shop and inventory.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards promptly.
• Be on-call for emergency maintenance outside regular hours.
• Comply with workplace safety and OSHA regulations.
• Must be on-site and able to move through building to meet residents, staff, vendors and visitors.
• Able to ascend/descend stairs, work in small spaces, and lift/move objects over 50 pounds.
• Comfortable with varying environmental climates and circumstances.
