Job summary

HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF LONG BRANCH is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and improve residential facilities, offices, and grounds. The role involves routine maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning, and preparing units for re-leasing, with independence or teamwork as required.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least two years of maintenance experience, plus strong communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities in a housing setting.

Qualifications

• Two years of maintenance experience in residential/public housing preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning/building maintenance methods.
• Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and determine repairs needed and perform maintenance as directed.
• Perform minor repairs to electrical, plumbing, heating/cooling, flooring, walls, doors and fixtures.
• Prepare dwelling units for re-leasing, including cleaning, painting and appliances.
• Keep facilities and grounds clean; manage waste and inventory of supplies.
• Relocate and organize office furniture and equipment as needed.
• Assist in boiler operation, snow removal, and distribute notices as required.
