Job summary

Timberland Partners is seeking a Maintenance Technician for The Retreat of Shawnee in Shawnee, KS. You’ll handle general upkeep, unit turns, and preventative maintenance to keep our 342‑unit community in top condition.

You’ll support resident requests, perform make-readies, and participate in on-call rotations with safety as a priority. A minimum of 2+ years’ residential maintenance experience and an EPA universal HVAC license are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of general maintenance experience, residential maintenance experience preferred
• EPA universal license for HVAC required
• CPO license preferred
• Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, electrical systems, all major appliances including washer and dryer
• Experience with turnover “make-readies” of apartments
• High school diploma or GED
• Basic computer proficiency preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely, high-quality results for resident work requests and day-to-day community maintenance needs.
• Take pride in curb appeal by keeping grounds, amenities, and common areas above quality standards, ensuring a welcoming environment residents are proud to call home.
• Identify and resolve potential safety or upkeep issues, serving as a trusted set of eyes and ears to protect the property and its residents.
• Execute seamless make-readies, repairs, and final checks so new residents walk into a flawless home on day one.
• Provide reliable emergency support on a rotating on-call schedule, ensuring peace of mind for residents when urgent issues arise.
• Champion a culture of safety by following all industry procedures, protecting yourself, your teammates, and the community.
