Job summary

Essex Property Trust, Inc. is seeking an Maintenance Technician II to maintain and service residential properties in the San Ramon area.

The role handles routine and preventive maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliances, and prepares vacants for new residents with painting, cleaning, and repairs. The candidate will conduct regular inspections, follow a preventive maintenance schedule, and respond promptly to resident requests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• HVAC and/or CPO certification preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of electrical, plumbing and appliance repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
• Repair and maintain interior and exterior property features.
• Respond to resident maintenance requests promptly.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents (painting, cleaning, and repairs).
• Conduct regular inspections and follow a preventive maintenance schedule.
• On-call availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintain safety, follow codes, and report hazards.
• Document work orders and repairs using property management software.
