Job summary

SustainableHR is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Madison, WI to maintain a residential apartment community. The role requires hands-on residential maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting, and a commitment to resident service.

Responsibilities include general repairs, turnovers, inspections, preventive maintenance, and occasional on-call coverage. A valid driver’s license and high school diploma are required. Competitive hourly pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in residential, apartment, facilities, or building maintenance.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and drywall repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall).
• Complete apartment turnovers and ensure units are ready for new residents.
• Respond to resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep systems operating efficiently.
• Maintain exterior areas including grounds cleaning and light landscaping.
• Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor about major repairs and contractor needs.
• Keep accurate records of work orders, inspections, and PM activities.
• Participate in occasional on-call rotations evenings/weekends.
• Follow safety procedures and applicable regulations.
