Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to care for the physical aspects of a garden-style property in San Mateo. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and complete preventive maintenance to ensure buildings meet safety and quality standards.

The role requires 3–5 years of maintenance experience, EPA refrigerant certifications, and a valid driver’s license for on-site operations. Schedule is Mon–Fri with on-call rotation; on-site housing discounts may apply.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of maintenance experience
• EPA certifications Type 1 and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling
• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on property (where applicable)
• Compliance with OSHA and safety training requirements

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned work orders and preventive maintenance to meet safety standards and codes.
• Perform make-ready tasks for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch lists, and coordinating vendors.
• Track materials, equipment, and inventory; notify supervisor when re-ordering is needed.
• Document service requests accurately to enable proper tracking and reporting.
• Assist in grounds and common area upkeep, including cleaning and painting as needed.
• Support cost-control by repairing instead of replacing parts when feasible and using tools correctly.
