Job summary

Equity Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle resident service requests and a variety of hands-on maintenance tasks. You will ensure market-ready apartments, perform preventative maintenance, and keep common areas and grounds in good condition.

You should be able to troubleshoot plumbing, electrical issues and appliances, maintain HVAC if applicable, and communicate clearly with residents and team members.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of federal and state apartment housing laws.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Must communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
• Able to perform physical tasks up to 50 lbs and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Address resident service requests promptly.
• Perform hands-on maintenance including plumbing and electrical work.
• Prepare market-ready apartments and maintain grounds.
• Conduct regular community inspections to identify repairs or replacements.
