Job summary

Equity Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician to address resident service requests, perform hands-on maintenance, and ensure market-ready apartments. The role includes preventative maintenance and upkeep of common areas, with reporting of concerns to management.

Responsibilities include promptly handling requests, plumbing/electrical work, preparing units, and conducting inspections for repairs. Requires HS diploma, valid license, and ability to work weekends and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and HVAC as applicable.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of federal and state apartment housing laws.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation if operating a vehicle.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and respond to emergencies after hours.

Responsibilities

• Promptly addressing resident service requests.
• Performing hands-on maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, and more.
• Preparing market-ready apartments and maintaining community grounds.
• Conducting regular community inspections to identify repairs or replacements.
