Job summary

Northeastern University in Boston is seeking an Operations Coordinator to oversee the facilities and operational functions of a complex of residential communities. This live-off role supports students, coordinates maintenance, safety, and housing records, and partners with campus services to ensure welcoming, well-run living spaces.

You will supervise student workers, manage move-ins/outs, and assist in emergency response and compliance with university policies.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience with higher education, facilities management, operational functions, and/or community development.
Strong organizational and administrative skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate records of student housing assignments, move-ins, and move-outs.
Document maintenance requests, incident reports, and other records; ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Prepare regular reports on occupancy, maintenance issues, and metrics.
Coordinate with Facilities Services to resolve facility-related issues.
Conduct regular inspections of residence halls and oversee preventative maintenance programs.
Serve as the point of contact for the community complex and provide support for housing, living, or facilities concerns.
Supervise student workers and manage move-in/move-out processes and building preparedness.
Act as conduct officer for health and safety violations and assist with policy enforcement.
Collaborate with other university departments to enhance student support services.
