Job summary

Brandt Heating and Air Conditioning in Iowa City is seeking an experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of home heating and cooling systems while delivering Brandt's trusted level of customer service.

Qualifications

• 4 years of verifiable experience as an HVAC Service Technician
• NATE certification
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling license
• Low-voltage license
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work from a 28-foot extension ladder and a 12-foot step ladder
• Ability to provide your own tools
• Located in or near Iowa City
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Good organization and time management
• Ability to work independently while being a strong team member

Responsibilities

• Performing preventative maintenance and service
• Troubleshooting HVAC equipment and identifying appropriate repair solutions

Experienced HVAC Service Technician Looking for a Company That Values Your Experience?

Brandt Heating and Air Conditioning is looking for an experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician to join our Iowa City team.

In this role, you'll diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide variety of residential heating and air conditioning systems while providing the high-quality customer experience Brandt is known for. You'll also have the opportunity to help train and mentor maintenance and service technicians, making this a great fit for someone who enjoys sharing their knowledge and helping others grow.

The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, with some evenings and weekends as needed.

What You'll Do

You'll be responsible for keeping residential HVAC systems operating safely and efficiently while providing professional service to customers.

Your day-to-day work may include:

• Diagnosing and repairing a wide variety of heating and air conditioning systems
• Performing preventative maintenance and service
• Troubleshooting HVAC equipment and identifying appropriate repair solutions
• Working with furnaces, air conditioning systems, heat pumps, refrigerant systems, and low-voltage components
• Assisting with training and mentoring maintenance and service technicians

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced HVAC service professional who combines strong technical skills with reliability, communication, and customer service.

You’ll need:

• 4 years of verifiable experience as an HVAC Service Technician
• NATE certification
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling license
• Low-voltage license
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work from a 28-foot extension ladder and a 12-foot step ladder
• Ability to provide your own tools
• Located in or near Iowa City
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Good organization and time management
• Ability to work independently while being a strong team member

Preferred but not required: HVAC trade school education, EPA certification, and multiple NATE certifications.

Pay & Benefits

$25–$45/hour, depending on experience.
