Job summary

Brandt Heating and Air Conditioning in Iowa City, IA is seeking an HVAC Technical Advisor to lead field operations, coach technicians, and guide diagnostic decisions across furnaces, AC, geothermal systems, heat pumps, boilers, and RTUs.

This full-time on-site role requires an Iowa HVAC license, 3+ years in service or management, the ability to read wiring diagrams, strong communication, and a commitment to safety, quality, and training through Interplay Learning and internal seminars.

Qualifications

• Must hold Iowa HVAC license and valid driver's license.
• 3+ years in customer service or management in a service field.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• HVAC troubleshooting across furnaces, AC, geothermal, etc.
• State of Iowa HVAC license (required) and NATE preferred.
• Residence within 30 miles of location.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with dispatch and forecast seasonal inventory.
• Coach techs on diagnostic data and communication.
• Lead escalated repairs and decide repair vs replacement.
• Ensure payment follows procedures and host internal seminars.
• Update training plans in Interplay Learning and collaborate with install.
• Maintain safety, code compliance, and gear/tools readiness.
• Build relationships with local trade schools for recruiting.
