Job summary

K Komfort Heating & Cooling in Madison, WI, is seeking an Assistant Residential Operations Manager to support daily operations, training, and technical guidance for our residential team. You will assist with diagnostics, repairs, and customer communications to ensure high service quality.

The role emphasizes coaching others, handling HVAC procedures, and coordinating with installers and service techs while maintaining safety and efficiency on job sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; HVAC tech training preferred; college degree a plus.
• EPA 608 (Type II) certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential HVAC repair/installation.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, tools, and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Residential Operations Manager with daily operations and admin tasks.
• Develop and implement training programs to build technician confidence.
• Coach and train technicians on HVAC basics and common issues.
• Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems per specs.
• Perform routine maintenance to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Document service findings and parts used in service software.
• Explain issues and options to customers in a professional manner.
• Educate customers on system operation and maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized job site and stocked vehicles.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
• Follow safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Engage in ongoing training to stay current with technology and codes.
