Job summary

Universal Health Services' McDowell Center for Children in Dyersburg, Tennessee seeks a dedicated Cook to prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for adolescent patients, working with dietitians and nursing staff to meet dietary requirements and safety standards.

You will keep equipment and workspaces clean, follow approved menus, monitor temperatures, assist with inventory, and contribute to a compassionate care environment with growth opportunities within UHS and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• High school graduate/GED required.
• Food service or culinary training are preferred.
• Previous cooking experience or completion of appropriate training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that focuses on fulfilling the organization’s mission, vision and values.
• Prepare hot and cold menu items according to standardized recipes and patient diet orders.
• Monitor food temperatures, ensure proper storage, and follow infection control protocols.
• Keep cooking equipment, workstations and storage areas clean, organized and in good repair.
• Assist with daily and monthly inventory checks, order supplies, and minimize food waste.
