Universal Health Services' McDowell Center for Children in Dyersburg, Tennessee seeks a dedicated Cook to prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for adolescent patients, working with dietitians and nursing staff to meet dietary requirements and safety standards.

You will keep equipment and workspaces clean, follow approved menus, monitor temperatures, assist with inventory, and contribute to a compassionate care environment with growth opportunities within UHS and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• High school graduate/GED required.
• Food service or culinary training are preferred.
• Previous cooking experience or completion of appropriate training program preferred.

McDowell Center for Children (a UHS facility):

McDowell Center is a 28-bed residential treatment facility located in Dyersburg, Tennessee, for adolescent males experiencing mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. Our staff is made up of licensed therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and counselors who offer 24-hour support for our patients. We provide young men with the skills they need to improve their thinking patterns, make healthier choices, and create new futures with improved outlooks and outcomes.

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for patients in compliance with federal, state, and local dietary regulations, as well as the facility’s policies. This role involves working with dietitians and nursing staff to meet individual dietary requirements, maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring timely, high-quality meal services. according to the approved menu cycle and production sheets.
