Job summary

IES is seeking an Electrical Service Technician in Huntsville, AL to support safe electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance on active construction sites and occupied homes. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, read blueprints, and ensure code compliance while delivering professional service to homeowners and project partners.

Responsibilities include wiring, panel and fixture installations, and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent field experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical construction or service work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on active construction sites or occupied residences.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform field diagnostics with testing tools.
• Run conduit and wire per NEC standards (PVC, EMT, MC, Romex).
• Mount and install panels, outlets, boxes, switches, and fixtures.
• Complete service calls, repairs, and inspections to resolve electrical issues.
• Coordinate with general contractors and other trades on site activities.
• Follow safety protocols and comply with OSHA and local codes.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good condition.
• Document service reports and material usage accurately.
• Provide professional customer service to homeowners.
