Job summary

Meridian Waste is seeking a Residential Driver to safely operate a collection truck and provide prompt, courteous waste removal for customers. You will ensure the vehicle is in compliance with safety standards and complete daily vehicle condition reports to address defects promptly.

The role requires a Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement, two years of heavy-truck experience, and strong reading/writing as well as customer service skills. A safe, efficient, fast-paced work style is essential.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement is required.
• Two years of prior experience driving heavy commercial trucks.
• Excellent reading and writing skills are required.
• Strong customer service skills and safety awareness are essential.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections per policy.
• Safely operate the truck on designated routes and service each customer.
• Load refuse and operate the compactor following safety procedures.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and coworkers.
• Identify unsatisfactory containers and tag them as required.
• Monitor waste for safety and cleanliness; address spills per policy.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and clean the packer blade and body as needed.
• Complete route/productivity sheets and vehicle condition reports.
• Meet productivity standards and provide timely service to customers.
• Adhere to company safety policies and promote safety standards.
• Follow work schedule, stay on task, and handle challenges as they arise.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
