Job summary

The Arc of Carroll County in Taneytown, MD is seeking a Residential Direct Support Professional to work 40 hours per week in a community living residence. You will support individuals with disabilities, help develop daily routines, assist with meals, transportation, and personal care while promoting independence.

No experience required – paid training provided. Weekend shifts available with a $2.00/hour differential; benefits include 403(b), employee assistance, and credit union membership.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license that has not been suspended or revoked.
• Ability to pass background, drug, and driving record checks.
• Computer and keyboarding skills.
• CPR, First Aid, Med Tech Certification and other DDA-mandated training required.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in a community living residential home.
• Create and implement daily routines and activities.
• Assist with meal planning, cooking, laundry, and light housekeeping.
• Provide personal care, medication administration, and mobility support as needed.
• Provide transportation and support community access.
• Promote independence, choice, and self-advocacy.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive home environment.
• Complete required documentation and follow agency/state guidelines.
