Job summary

Monarch in Walnut Cove, NC is seeking a Developmental Specialist to support people in achieving personal dreams. This part-time PRN role involves assessment, community integration, and daily living support.

You will work with individuals with mental health diagnoses, IDD, or substance use disorders, ensuring safety, rights, and person-centered planning. A high school diploma is required, and a valid driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience with mental health diagnosis or developmental disability or substance use disorder is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess each person’s hopes and provide supports to achieve them.
• Help build relationships in the community and with natural supports.
• Encourage participation in activities aligned with interests.
• Protect and promote the rights of people served.
• Provide emotional, physical, and medical support as needed.
• Foster person-centered relationships and self-determination.
• Contribute to assessment and planning, and implement the plan.
• Complete required documentation and logs daily.
• Assist with daily home duties: chores, meals, laundry, shopping.
• Drive or arrange transportation as required.
• Support safety and emergency procedures; conduct drills.
• Mentor and train new staff; attend required meetings.
• Sleepover at residential setting may be required.
• Follow agency policies and state/federal rules.
