Job summary

Community Teamwork in Lowell, MA is seeking a part-time Residential Counselor to support guests in our shelter program on Saturdays and Sundays 8 AM–4 PM. You will provide life skills support and help maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment.

You will enforce rules, assist with intake, respond to emergencies, document consistently, and collaborate with staff to uphold CTI values of Equity, Integrity and Compassion.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least one year in human services with individuals in need
• Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Excellent crisis management skills
• Proficient computer skills in basic software and data collection
• Good attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of guests and the site
• Enforce rules and regulations to ensure smooth operation of the site
• Respond effectively to emergency situations, document appropriately, and communicate according to established guidelines
• Complete the intake process for new guests

Residential Counselor

Part time: Every Saturday and Every Sunday 8AM-4PM

Pay Range $20.59 to $21.21 per hour

Position Summary

This Residential Counselor will work in our Shelter Staff program and will be responsible for working closely with clients in a congregate emergency residential shelter site, to provide life skills support to individuals who are staying at the shelter. This position also provides oversight of site operations, which include enforcing safety measures, program rules, and expectations using a trauma-informed and client-centered approach.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of guests and the site

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent education
• At least one year of previous experience working in the human services field with individuals in need of social services (preferably low income individuals) is required
• Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Excellent crisis management skills
• Proficient computer skills in basic computer software and data collection
• Good attention to detail
