Residential Construction Project Coordinator

Worthington & Shagen Custom Builder, Inc. is a top-tier custom home builder known for exceptional craftsmanship, dependability, and premium client service. We are seeking a Residential Construction Project Coordinator to support the planning, documentation, communication, and day-to-day coordination of our high-end residential construction projects in Bucks County.

This is a full-time, in-person position for someone who understands residential construction, can read plans, manage detailed project information, and help keep both office and field teams organized throughout the construction process. Remote work is not available for this position.

Position Overview

As the Residential Construction Project Coordinator, you will work closely with our Production Manager / Project Manager, Steve Shagen, to help manage the administrative, technical, and coordination side of active residential construction projects.

To much of the industry, this position may resemble an Assistant Project Manager role. Internally, however, we view it as a Project Coordinator position focused on keeping projects organized, information flowing, and the production team supported.

You will help ensure that Lead Carpenters, Site Supervisors, vendors, subcontractors, clients, and office leadership have the accurate and up-to-date information needed to keep projects moving.

Unlike many construction companies, Worthington & Shagen operates with a unique system designed specifically for high-end residential construction. This role plays an important part in maintaining the structure behind that system and supporting projects from the office through field execution.

For the right individual, this position can also provide a long-term path toward greater project responsibility and eventual advancement into a Project Manager role.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Production Manager / Project Manager with day-to-day project coordination
• Manage and maintain project documentation throughout active construction
• Help organize project information for Lead Carpenters and Site Supervisors
• Maintain contracts, selections, specifications, meeting notes, schedules, project logs, and related documentation
• Draft, track, and manage change orders, including supporting documentation and approvals
• Track project updates, decisions, field communications, and client-facing information
• Help maintain project management systems, internal files, and shared records
• Assist with permit-related and compliance-related documentation as needed
• Support invoicing, budget documentation, and job cost recordkeeping
• Coordinate information between office leadership, field staff, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
• Help identify missing information or documentation before it becomes a project issue
• Maintain clear and organized communication across multiple active projects
• Support production workflows and help keep projects moving efficiently from one phase to the next
• Assist with scheduling, follow-up, and other project-related administrative needs as required

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of residential construction methods, terminology, and project flow
• Prior experience in residential construction project coordination, project support, assistant project management, production support, or a similar role
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, drawings, and construction documents
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and moving parts simultaneously
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Comfortable working with project management systems and digital documentation
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
• Ability to communicate effectively with both field personnel and office leadership
• Experience in high-end residential construction or custom home building is strongly preferred
• Business, administrative, accounting, or additional project management experience is a plus
• Experience working on Macs is a plus, as this is the company's preferred platform

Compensation and Benefits

• Full-time, W-2 employment
• Salary range: $60,000-$80,000 annually, based on experience
• Potential for additional performance-based compensation

Final compensation will depend on the selected candidate's experience, capabilities, and overall fit for the position.
