Job summary

GFL Industries is seeking a Collections Specialist to perform collection activities for Residential/Consumer accounts while delivering excellent customer service. You will ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies, and support management directives in a fast-paced office setting.

The role requires 3–5 years of consumer collections experience, an AA degree or equivalent, and proficiency with MS Office, AS400, and SoftPak.

Qualifications

• Three to five years experience in consumer collections, accounts receivable and customer service.
• AA degree from a two year college or technical school.
• Working knowledge of MS Office-Outlook, Word and Excel; AS400 and Soft Pak.

Responsibilities

• Make debt collection calls on residential accounts.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the collections supervisor as needed.
• Maintain detailed customer information on delinquent accounts including contact information.
• Process account cancellations on unpaid debt and adjustments for corrections.
• Conduct customer research for unresolved disputed issues.
• Meet or exceed collection goals in a fast paced environment.
• Resolve customer complaints and questions; operate standard office equipment.
