Job summary

Washington City Mission in Washington is seeking a compassionate residential counselor to oversee a caseload of 15–20 clients in the housing program. You will develop individualized strategies to promote recovery, independence, and family stabilization, applying a client-centered, culturally sensitive approach within a Christ-centered ministry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certification in counseling and Master’s degree highly desired.
• Ability to work evenings at least one shift per week.

Responsibilities

• Uphold, promote and encourage the mission and core values of City Mission.
• Maintain safety and security of the assigned group of residents.
• Provide case management for each resident and coordinate services to achieve independent living.
• Conduct comprehensive resident assessments to develop a case plan.
• Prepare and evaluate 2-3 classes per week and conduct crisis intervention as needed.
• Ensure participation in Career Center offerings and vocational programming.
• Monitor progress, maintain case files, and document in program databases.
• Participate in disciplinary meetings and treatment teams as needed.
