Job summary

Gwinnett Technical College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty for Residential Carpentry to teach in the Engineering Construction Manufacturing and Design Division. This part-time, non-benefited position reports to the Program Director - Carpentry and Residential Construction Management.

The role requires a relevant degree and at least two years of related work experience; Postsecondary teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline OR Associate ’s degree in discipline plus at least two years related work experience.
  • Two (2) years related work experience is required.
  • Postsecondary teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Uses prepared lesson plans for classroom instruction for specified courses. (40%)
  • Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. (15%)
  • Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. (10%)
  • Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. (5%)
  • Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately. (10%)
  • Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area. (20%)
  • Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts. (3%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of Gwinnett Technical College. (2%)
