Job summary

Jackson County Missouri in the Assessment department is seeking an appraiser to conduct field and office valuations of residential, agricultural, and special purpose properties, including vacant lots.

The role requires two years of real estate experience in appraisal, construction, sales, or mass appraisal, plus a valid Missouri driver's license. A background check and drug screen are required as part of pre-employment. You will gather and analyze data to support fair assessments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Two years of experience in Real Estate in appraisal, construction, sales, or experience with mass appraisal computer system.
• Must possess/maintain valid Missouri Driver's License.
• Must submit to and pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and office residential, agricultural, special purpose (condos, co-ops), and vacant property appraisals.
• Gathers, records, maintains, and analyzes data such as zoning, selling and asking prices, income and building costs for appraisals.
• Receives and investigates complaints about property assessments, makes reappraisals and submits recommendations at hearings.

• Receives and investigates complaints about property assessments, makes reappraisals and submits recommendations at hearings

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Two years of experience in Real Estate in one of the following fields: appraisal, construction, sales, or experience with mass appraisal computer system.
• Must possess/maintain valid Missouri Driver's License.
• Must submit to and pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
