Job summary

Community Health Resources in Willimantic, CT is seeking a Residential Aide/Food Service Worker for Heartwood Home. The role supports meal planning, food service, and resident daily living in a structured recovery residence.

You will assist with nutrition, monitor medications per policy, and collaborate with providers and families. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:30 pm, with alternate 9:30 am–6:00 pm; full-time, 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years' experience as a cook preferred, with meal planning for 30+ residents.
• ServSafe certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees meal planning and food purchases to meet DPH guidelines within budget constraints.
• Ensures meals are prepared in a timely and safe manner, meeting nutrition expectations.
• Keeps kitchen and dining areas safe, hygienic, and clean.
• Provides education to residents on cooking skills, healthy eating, and nutrition.
• Monitors medications of all residents per policy and procedure.
• Prepares and facilitates educational and skill-building groups as directed by the treatment plan.
• Collaborates with providers and families to coordinate care.
• Assists residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs.
• Maintains documentation in compliance with agency standards.
• Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings.
• Additional duties as required.
