CHRIST Community Health Resources, Inc.'s Heartwood Home in Willimantic, CT is hiring a Residential Aide/Food Service Worker for a 40-hour, full-time, on-site schedule. The role supports meal planning, food preparation, and resident care in a structured recovery setting.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years cook experience, and a valid driver's license with good driving record. ServSafe certification is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: minimum two years’ cook experience; meal planning for 30+ people and/or in a congregate care setting.
• Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license; ServSafe Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees meal planning and food purchases to meet DPH guidelines, with budget constraints.
• Ensures meals are prepared safely and meet nutrition standards.
• Keeps kitchen and dining areas clean and compliant with safety standards.
• Educates residents on food preparation, cooking skills, and healthy eating.
• Monitors residents' medications per policy and procedures.
• Facilitates educational groups and individual interventions as directed by the treatment plan.
• Collaborates with providers and families to coordinate care.
• Assists residents with medical and psychiatric needs as needed.
• Maintains documentation per agency standards.
• Attends staff meetings, trainings, and other assigned meetings.
