Job summary

Heartwood Home, Willimantic, CT, is seeking a Residential Aide for a part-time, 16-hour weekly schedule with a Saturday and Sunday 11pm–7:30am shift. The role supports residents in a structured recovery setting, maintains the living environment, and helps with medication monitoring and treatment-plan activities.

The position requires a High School Diploma, a valid driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in Human Services with responsible work history.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; CPR & First Aid Certification required OR must obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains physical environment and program standards per CHR/DMHAS/JCAHO licensing.
• Monitors medications of all residents per policy.
• Communicates day’s events to staff using appropriate tools.
• Teaches and assists residents in rehab areas: nutrition, healthy living, meal prep, hygiene, laundry, budgeting, basic home care.
• Assists/Manages administrative functions and tasks as directed by supervisor.
• Prepares and facilitates educational and skill-building groups and one-to-one interventions.
• Collaborates and coordinates care with providers and families as needed.
• Assists residents with medical and psychiatric needs.
• Maintains documentation in accordance with agency standards.
• Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings.
