Job summary

The Schermerhorn residence in Brooklyn, NY seeks an Activities Coordinator to develop and facilitate a robust weekly programs focusing on socialization, self-care, mental health wellness, and community integration for residents.

Reporting to the Manager of Arts Center and Resident Services, you will collaborate with onsite staff and partner agencies, design therapeutic activities, maintain the schedule, arrange events logistics, and help manage expenses and office processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–3 years demonstrated experience in activities and/or education programs.
• Experience working with special needs populations.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stand for several hours, must be able to lift up to 30lbs.

Responsibilities

• Develop therapeutic activities based on residents' interests and needs.
• Collaborate with onsite social work staff and partner agencies to address resident concerns.
• Maintain and distribute a regular activities schedule and monthly calendar.
• Arrange transportation and logistics for outings and events.
• Process monthly expense reports and maintain program records.
