Job summary

Hebrew Home -Retirement Community- Riverdale, NY is seeking a Full-time Activities Coordinator to organize, lead and participate in a wide variety of resident activities on a daily basis. You will assess residents and document activities, coordinating with the Activity Director to ensure engaging programs.

The role requires geriatric experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and comfort with computers.

Qualifications

• Experience in geriatric settings such as nursing homes or senior centers.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Physically able to stand for long periods, squat, bend and push activity carts.
• Proficient in using various computer programs.
• High school diploma or higher.
• Experience with SIGMA care and SAGELY is a plus.
• Experience in organizing game groups and art classes.

Responsibilities

• Organize, lead and participate in a wide variety of resident activities daily to achieve high engagement and enjoyment.
• Lead and participate in special events as needed.
• Adapt approach for different abilities physically and cognitively.
• Ensure events are well-provisioned and on time.
• Complete scheduled activities daily and coordinate with director if needed.
• Transport supplies and complete cleanup after activities.
• Observe participants for enjoyment and gather feedback to improve events.
• Maintain records of participation and behaviors as directed.
• Complete resident assessments and documentation as directed.
• Report medical concerns or observations.
• Willingness to use computers daily.
