Job summary

East Towne in Charlotte, NC is seeking a compassionate Resident Transporter to safely transport residents to medical appointments, community activities, and other outings. You’ll assist residents boarding and exiting vehicles and help keep trips comfortable and secure.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Previous transportation, healthcare, or customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a passenger transport vehicle (training provided if needed).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage residents.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, social outings, and activities.
• Assist residents during boarding and exiting vehicles for safety and comfort.
• Maintain and report vehicle cleanliness and fuel levels, and address issues with management.
• Coordinate schedules with staff and residents for timely transportation.
• Follow traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure secure travel for residents.
• Maintain transportation logs and report incidents to staff.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service to residents throughout trips.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safe Transportation: Safely transport residents to and from scheduled medical appointments, social outings, and other activities as directed.
• Resident Assistance: Provide assistance to residents during boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure company vehicles are clean, fueled, and properly maintained. Report any issues or concerns to management.
• Schedule Coordination: Work closely with staff and residents to ensure timely transportation scheduling and efficient route planning.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility protocols to ensure a secure and positive travel experience for residents.
• Communication & Documentation: Maintain accurate transportation logs and report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Customer Service: Engage with residents in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive and reassuring experience during transportation.

Qualifications:
